Frank is a trained architect and an urban planner. He initially worked at City Hall as a planner, where he played a foundational role in the identification and planning for the St Lawrence Neighbourhood on the east side of downtown Toronto, now regarded as a successful neighbourhood model that mixes commercial and residential uses with both subsidized and market oriented housing. In 1986 he joined with Joe Berridge to establish a new consulting firm in urban planning and urban design, this firm is now known as Urban Strategies Inc. Urban Strategies offers planning and urban design services across the GTA, Canada and the world.
Frank has a long history of working with community based organizations. He has participated on the Boards of Theatre Passe Muraille and Artscape. He has experience in working with institutions such as CAMH, Bridgepoint Health, the Children’s Aid, TDSB and a number of hospitals. He understands how to undertake community outreach and produce a vision from that process. Frank is active in the development of social housing and cooperative housing and in creating active and successful developments throughout our city and beyond.
