Lou BoileauSchool Grown Youth Engagement Facilitator
Lou has worked in community organizing, youth-run initiatives and non-profit sector in the areas of queer and trans advocacy, community education, Indigenous lead organizing and anti-racism. Lou is also a facilitator providing trainings in combatting anti-blackness, queer & trans advocacy, conflict resolution, crisis intervention and de-escalation for youth, organizations, service providers and activist spaces.
Lou grew up on Ojibwe territory in Northern Ontario, close to Thessalon First Nations. She was raised on fresh vegetables; sweet potatoes, snow peas and other good greens.
Lou is working on a project creating community mental health support systems in Black and Indigenous communities. Lou is also a writer of Afro-Caribbean sci-fi, creative non-fiction and other written and performed works.
