FoodShare Toronto announces departure of Paul Taylor as Executive Director

FoodShare Toronto’s Board of Directors has accepted the resignation of Executive Director Paul Taylor and is announcing his departure, effective January 7, 2023.

In his tenure as FoodShare’s Executive Director since 2017, Paul played a critical role in the development and success of the organization which involved many significant accomplishments, including:

  • Stewarding the current strategic plan through the board and staff
  • Helping stabilize operations and organizational processes throughout the global pandemic
  • FoodShare becoming a Living Wage Employer and increasing its minimum wage to $24/hour
  • FoodShare’s operating budget nearly doubling from $6.5 million in 2017 to $11.5 million in 2021
  • Participating in over 200 media interviews, presentations and panels 

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Paul for his invaluable contributions to FoodShare,” said Crystal Sinclair, Chair of FoodShare’s Board. “We cannot thank Paul enough for the vision, dedication and passion he has given FoodShare for over five years, and for consistently challenging the sector to dream big about all that is possible. He will be greatly missed by the staff, Board, volunteers, and community partners alike.” 

FoodShare’s Board of Directors will be undertaking a search in the coming weeks to seek a new Executive Director to lead FoodShare.
