In Memoriam: Vizma Sprott

We at FoodShare Toronto mourn the loss of Vizma Sprott, a steadfast advocate for food security, housing, and social justice. As a co-founder of The Sprott Foundation, Vizma’s leadership and generosity have supported transformative work across the country, including here at FoodShare, where we have been privileged to collaborate for more than 25 years.

Vizma’s commitment to justice was not just about funding change—it was about shaping it, ensuring resources reached communities in ways that upheld dignity and self-determination. Her impact will be felt for generations to come.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Vizma’s husband Eric, their daughters Juliana and Larisa, her entire family, her friends, and all who were touched by her warmth and care.
