Jackie is a retired Family Studies teacher. Many of the courses she taught were food related, with a major focus on sustainability. Jackie met FoodShare staff when she implemented a Healthy Food program at Agincourt Collegiate. This lunch and after school program offers good healthy food options to all students. The program successfully ensures that many of the students are eating fresh vegetables and fruit on a daily basis. Jackie works closely with other board members as well as FoodShare staff, focusing on recruitment, education, on boarding, accountability and evaluation. Jackie is an active member of her synagogue’s social action committee, volunteers regularly with the Out of the Cold breakfast program, and works closely with a refugee family supporting them in after school programming and homework.
