Julia Vlad is passionate about using finance to support social organizations. She has fifteen years of experience in banking, finance and the non-profit sector. She currently leads two funds at New Market Funds, Community Forward Fund, which provides capital to charities and non-profits and Canadian Cooperative Investment Fund, which provides capital to cooperatives. Her prior experience includes investing and portfolio management at the World Bank in Panama, Senegal and USA; advising social entrepreneurs at an accelerator in Nicaragua and financial analysis and forecasting at Scotiabank.

In her free time, Julia volunteers as a mentor for Fintech Candance’s Fintechs for Good accelerator, with an animal rescue and is a board member at Talentrade, a training and educational social enterprise.

She holds an MBA from HEC Paris, a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Toronto and is a CFA charter holder.
