Russell started with FoodShare in 2014 working with the School Grown program while in high school. During his time there, he was awarded a College Scholarship and is now completing a program in Firefighting Education and Training at Algonquin College. Russell’s experience with FoodShare has helped him appreciate both the importance of healthy eating, and the fact that healthy food options are not equally available to all citizens and this is a situation that needs to be rectified. Since then Russell has worked with all branches of FoodShare. Russell has worked in the compost with Orlando, he’s spent some time in the kitchen, been on the road delivering Good Food Boxes and fresh produce to schools and churches around Toronto, and in the warehouse packing skids to be delivered. Russell would like to extend one of those branches to becoming a board member of FoodShare.
