Wendy Blain
Board MemberWendy is a retired secondary school principal who brought food insecurity issues to the forefront of her community. The schools, families and students who she served, were situated in neighbourhoods of need. They were diverse in every sense of the word. Wendy has sat on three Boards since 1996 and has remained as an active member on the Human Resources Committee of Outward Bound Canada. Wendy has travelled and worked on every continent. She has a passion for understanding those not like her – bringing a compassionate and equitable lens to that in which she engages. She prides herself on trying her best to live in the present moment and has a long established mindfulness practice both on and off the cushion. At the moment, Wendy teaches mindfulness, leads breathing practices for educators, and facilitates retreats. She is also an end of life doula with a formal certification as a grief educator.
