- FoodShare receives the Ontario Produce and Marketing Association’s Outstanding Achievement Award for Fresh Fest at the Ontario Food Terminal. Fresh Fest was the first ever public event held at the Terminal, attracting more than 4000 people to raise funds for FoodShare and awareness around the importance of fresh produce in Ontario.
- Multilingual Community Interpreter Services honours FoodShare with the Global Community Partner of the Year Award for our pioneering efforts in the area of social enterprise that improve access and remove barriers to development of sustainable communities. Zahra Parvinian, FoodShare Director of Social Enterprise spoke at the Annual General Meeting and “captivated the audience sharing inspirational stories about Foodshare’s journey and its successes in engaging communities with sustainable food practices over the past ten years.”
- FoodShare receives the Ophea Award for Outstanding Contribution in recognition of our contribution and multi-faceted approach to Student Nutriion and school food.
- Debbie Field receives Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Medal from the Governor General of Canada. The Medal serves to honour significant contributions and achievements by Canadians for the differences they have made to their city and country.
- Debbie Field receives Bread and Roses award from the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) Provincial Women’s Committee for outstanding leadership and dedication in advancing women’s issues in OPSEU, the labour movement and the community.
- FoodShare’s Recipe for Change Initiative is awarded prestigious Vital Ideas grant from the Toronto Community Foundation, in recognition of the organization’s work to return Food Literacy to schools, building a healthy future for our children. read more
