Flemo Farm is a half acre urban farm located in a hydro corridor in Flemingdon Park. The project is a partnership between FoodShare, Flemingdon Health Centre, the City of Toronto, and the Flemindgon Park community.

The City of Toronto and Toronto Urban Growers are collaborating on the Community Engagement and Entrepreneurial Development (CEED) project to use Hydro Corridors to grow fruit and vegetable crops. Two sites have been selected for this pilot initiative and Flemingdon Park is one of these sites. Thus, Flemo Farm was born!

Flemo Farm is a community-owned and community-developed initiative. To accurately capture the needs and wishes of the Flemingdon Park community, consultations were held at the Flemingdon Health Centre in the fall and winter of 2015-2016, with a final project reveal in March 2016. It took more than 5 years to secure the permits, approvals, and funding necessary to access the site, install all the necessary infrastructure, and launch the project.

Half of the farm is cared for by staff who grow and harvest food with the help of residents through a volunteer program. The other half of the farm is dedicated to plots for 5 Community Farmers – growers from the local community and one Indigenous grower who run small farm businesses. There are also events, workshops and tours for both kids and adults.
